OUR GIVING TO NEW YORK CITY IN 2019
Every year, our Operation CR team hosts 3 giving drives with martial arts schools as donation centers to collect canned foods, gently used jackets, and new toys for children in need to have a better holiday season. For 2019, we hosted our second Operation Food, Stay Warm, and Toys again for Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Operation Food is a local canned food drive where all participants collect boxed and canned foods to give to food pantries and soup kitchens to serve families and children that do not have guaranteed meals. With our participants, we were able to collect more than 5,000 food items to donate to Connect Church’s food drive for hundreds of families in New York City to enjoy a nice Thanksgiving meal and more!!
Operation Stay Warm is our local clothing drive where we collect gently used jackets and clothes to help prepare families for the year’s upcoming winter. Our highly successful coat drive led to more than 637 jackets and 1,000 clothes to the New York City Cares Clothing Drive. This is a clothing drive that provides for families that are in social service agencies, public schools, and housing shelters with limited clothing. It allows these families to face the winter with greater ease and comfort.
Lastly, for Operation Toys we collect new/boxed toys for children and their families to better enjoy the holiday season. More than 2,000 toys were collected for New York State Senator John Liu’s holiday toy drive, which donated all toys to families of soldiers currently serving our country!
Our mission for Operation CR is to always improve the quality of life for children worldwide. We want to always leave a message that while there are people that have what they need, there are always people that do not have what they need and we want to provide for others!
If you are interested in hosting a giving drive with Operation CR, do not hesitate to contact us! We will host a giving drive in your local area and provide for those in need. Join us as we rescue children worldwide!
